Choosing Your Instrument
The first step is deciding whether you want to play the bagpipes or become a drummer. Each role has a unique function in a pipe band:
Bagpipes – Pipers start by learning on a practice chanter before moving to the full bagpipes.
Snare Drum – Snare drummers start with drum pads to develop stick control and technique.
Tenor Drum – Adds mid-range depth and visual flair with flourishing movements.
Bass Drum – Provides steady pulse and depth.
